Nairn’s reserve team got off to a solid start in the Reserve T20 cup with a comprehensive victory over Elgin in their opening game of the tournament at Cooper Park in Elgin. Elgin were put into bat and were limited to 72 runs by Nairn’s strong bowling attack. The pick of the bowlers was Nairn junior Shane Hayward who took 2 wickets for 6 runs off 4 overs which included a caught and bowled.

After the break Nairn went into bat and took apart the Elgin bowling attack. The target was reached in 7.2 overs without losing a wicket. The pick of the batsmen was Iain Lednor who scored 40 runs and reserve captain Alex Green.

Nairn’s Reserves were unable to play in their second T20 of the day with Forres because of the weather conditions.
